Mister Ball Peen Hammer Answers My Five Burning Questions and more

ballpeenhammer
Ball Peen Hammer by Lauren Rowe was one of my favorite books this summer and definitely my favorite funny romance in a good while. If you love Rachel Van Dyken or Helena Hunting books this will float your boat!! Keane has a great voice and I fell in love with him in this book, so I thought I’d see how he’d answer my five burning questions. Check out his responses they are funny, sweet and only Keane.

Here’s the description for Ball Peen Hammer if you haven’t read it yet.
“Keane Morgan wouldn’t return any of my calls or texts, and I was pissed as hell about it. I didn’t want to drive from Seattle to L.A. with the guy any more than he wanted to drive with me, but I had no frickin’ choice in the matter–at least, not if I wanted to use his brother Dax’s coveted parking spot at UCLA.

Okay, so it turned out Keane was objectively gorgeous, and, fine, pretty funny, too. But did he have to be so damned in love with himself? I mean, jeez, the cocky way he flashed those dimples was just soorchestrated. And, honestly, what kind of guy uses the phrase “baby doll” with a straight face? Oh, that’s right: the kind of guy who’s a male stripper.

Yup, the cocky jerk turned out to be Seattle’s answer to Magic Mike, a stripper known as “Ball Peen Hammer”–which meant Keane Morgan was emphatically not the kind of guy I’d ever fall for.

Not. At. All. No freakin’ way. Well, until Keane convinced me to fall for him, that is.  Which I did. Hard.
NOTE:
Ball Peen Hammer is a full-length, standalone sexy romantic comedy about Keane Morgan (one of four Morgan brothers introduced in The Club Series) and Maddy Milliken (the little sister of Hannah Banana Montana Milliken).

1.    Let’s start off with Kill, Marry or Screw?

Matt_NSelecting a person to kill, even hypothetically, is really bad karma, baby doll. I certainly don’t want someone plotting to kill me, so I’d better pass on that. Marriage? Pass. I’m too young to be making lifelong promises to anyone about anything. I can barely keep a promise to call my momma tomorrow. Screw? The only person I have any desire to screw these days is the one and only Maddy Behind the Camera, Madelyn Elizabeth Milliken. Yee-boy! Sexy girl.

2.   What would you do if could do anything in the world?

That’s easy. Pitch a no-hitter in the World Series.

3.

What do you love most about your girl?

Man, my girl Maddy’s a smart-girl. A helluva lot smarter than me, that’s for sure. And she’s funny as hell, too. (True story: Maddy made me laugh yesterday, right as I was I taking a sip of orange juice and it totally shot outta my nose, brah. Hilare.) And she’s talented, too. And so fucking sweet, sugar won’t even melt in her mouth. Most of all, though, I think I love the way she makes me feel about myself. She makes me feel like I can do anything–like I’m some kind of superhero. She makes me want to deserve the way she looks at me.

4.
What animal are you most afraid of?

Okay, bear with me here, brah. What’s that little animal that hides in bushes and then sneaks out and kills you? It’s a stealthy little fucker, but I can’t remember what it’s called. But, anyway, that’s the animal I’m most afraid of. Bee tee dubs, when I asked my best friend Zander what that animal is called, he was like, “A snake?” And I’m like, “No, dude. Not a snake. This stealthy fucker-thing is a mammal.” And Zander was like, “A stealthy mammal that hides in bushes and then sneaks out and kills you? You mean, a lion?” And I was like, “No, fuck! No, not a lion. It’s small.” And Zander replied, “And it sneaks out of bushes and kills you? There’s no such animal, Peenie Weenie. You’re high.” Well, fuck that! I’m positive that deadly little mammal exists, I just can’t remember what it’s called. So, yeah, whatever that thing is, my answer to your question is that. (And to answer the question that’s surely rolling around in your head right now: No, Zander and I were not drunk or stoned or otherwise chemically impaired during the conversation detailed above.)

Matt_n15.  Finally who is really your moms favorite?

There is no “really” needed in this wording of this question, son. If any of my three brothers or sister think it’s one of them, then I’d posit the following query: “Who gets extras every time Mom makes lasagna? And who makes Momatron laugh ‘til she literally pees? And who used to write Motherboard little poems when he was a little dude? That’s right, son, the one and only Keane Elijah Morgan. There’s no doubt Momma Lou loves me the most of all her five kids, and if my siblings disagree they can SUCK IT! *drops the mic* (Ain’t no shame in my game. I’m a momma’s boy through and through.)

6.For bonus points, what’s your favorite swear word?

Oh, man, that’s like asking me to pick a favorite child. I love all my children equally. But, okay, if pressed, then I’d say I’m an ardent fan of the word “fucker.”

Debut Author J.A. Little Answers My Five Burning Questions

JA Little Author

It’s been a long summer of moving house, writing and traveling, now is the time to bring back 5 burning questions.  Check out debut J.A. Little’s novel – Angel of Redemption.

I discovered this story from a 5 STAR review on the Schmexy Girl Blog and I wanted to spread the word about this book.  Dean Wyatt sparks all the things I love in romance, check out this description and the review and I think you’ll 1-click this book too.

Check out the description: Seasoned social worker Kayla Brooks has dealt with her fair share of difficult situations, but nothing could have prepared her for the likes of Dean Wyatt, head of Wyatt House Group Home for Boys. When a case unexpectedly brings Kayla to his door in the middle of the night, sparks fly. With a piercing gaze and heavily inked skin, Dean looks like a walking wet dream.

Until he turns out to be an asshole.

Dean Wyatt has always kept those around him at arm’s length. Secrets lurk beneath his tattoos—a traumatic past known to very few.

Forced to work together in order to help two vulnerable boys, Kayla slowly penetrates Dean’s tough exterior. Along the way the two discover something they’ve each been missing—but only time will tell if they can overcome the painful past that’s kept anyone from bringing true happiness into Dean’s world.

Check out J.A.’s answers to my five burning questions.

1. Let’s start off with Kill, Marry or Screw? Gideon Cross, Kellan Kyle or Dean?

*Ha! It’s so weird to even have that question asked b/c Gideon Cross and Kellan Kyle are so well known. I don’t like the idea of killing anyone. Screw . . . probably all 3 at some point, depending on mood. lol. Marry would definitely have to be Dean. I have an deeply emotional attachment to him already so it would be an easy step to take.

2. Do you remember the first romance book you ever read? Can you tell me about it?  EDITORS NOTE:  I think mine was Bitch by Jackie Collins and I was about 10 or 11.

* I honestly don’t remember my first romance. I do remember when I was about 14 getting ahold of one that was a period novel. Set in the 1800s maybe. I just remember them talking about his “pink member” and thinking “I’m not sure I’m supposed to be reading this.” Of course I did anyway.

charlieh3. What type of stories would you like to write but haven’t yet? Menage, BDSM or a sexless romance. The sexless romance should come with a warning. Don’t you think?

* Well, I have to start out by saying that I kind of “fell” into writing romance/adult novels. When I was younger, I wanted to be the female version of Stephen King. I wrote twisted poetry and horror. So romance really is fairly new for me. I think though, in the romance category, I really like to keep things real. Sex is a part of adult relationships so I’m not sure that I would ever write a sexless adult romance, but I’d probably tone it down quite a bit if I ended up writing other genres. I’m not sure that Menage or BDSM is really my style either, but I suppose I’ll never say never.

4. What’s your favorite thing to do when you aren’t writing or reading?

*I have four kids, so I am constantly running around taking people here and there and everywhere else. On the rare occasion I get time to myself though, I am a runner. I love just getting out and going whether it’s 3 miles or 10 miles. It clears my head and gets the adrenaline pumping. In the winters I also like to snowboard. And I really just enjoy having coffee or drinks with friends.

5. If you could have a dinner party and invite anyone to it, who would it be?  Celebrities, book boyfriends, intellectuals or aJKRowlingnyone.  Name five people.

*This is a hard one. It’s taken me over a week to figure this out, but this is what I’ve come up with.

1) Sia because she writes such raw and emotional music. I have been inspired by her more times than I can count and I am just awed at the way she puts it all out there.

2) JK Rowling because . . . because she’s JK Rowling. lol. It takes a lot of strength and determination to pick yourself up by your bootstraps the way that she did. She changed and inspired an entire generation. Her imagination and her ability to take people into a whole other world is astounding.

3) Charlie Hunnam – Does this one really need explanation? He could inspire me to write all sorts of stories.

4) H.G. Wells. – It seems to me like he knew far more about science fiction and the future than he should have at the time that he was writing novels. I’m curious as to how he came up with his ideas.

5) My Nana, because I miss her and love her and I wish she could see the compassionate and determined young man and the strong, independent daughters I am raising. She would proud of them.

6. For bonus points, what’s your favorite swear word?

*Shit is the word I use the most. But I always laugh when someone uses the word douchenozzle or something similarly ridiculous.

Author A. WILDING WELLS Answers my Five Burning Questions & more

wildthingsI discovered A. Wilding Wells books in a random search on Amazon and I was hooked when I saw the abdominal muscles and a tartan kilt on the cover of How To Tame Beasts And Other Wild Things. Who isn’t a sucker for those? Right? I 1-Clicked it and the rest was a recipe for yummy Alpha goodness. The widowed Scottish farmer Balthazar “the Beast” Cox reluctantly falls for the world traveling Matilda Pearl when she comes home to help him take care of his family. I loved their story and WW’s story telling style so when her new book came out A Field Guide To Catching Crickets  I 1-clicked again. Right now both books are available on Kindle Unlimited for Free or only 99 cents.

I am grateful that she’s taken five minutes out of her busy day from her writing, taking care of her boys or her adorable farm animals to answer my five burning questions.  Follow her on instagram and you’ll know what I am talking about.

fieldguide

  1. Let’s start off with Kill, Marry or Screw? Gideon Cross, Kellan Kyle or Balthazar?
Marry Balthazar no question, with lots of screwing. Kellan Kyle, screw, and screw and screw. Gideon Cross, screw the living daylights out of.
  1. Do you remember the first romance book you ever read? Can you tell me about it? EDITOR NOTE:  I think mine was Bitch by Jackie Collins and I was about 10 or 11.
Mine was Forever by Judy Blume. I was 10 years old. I read it over and over.. loved it. But I was so confused by all the coming. I had no idea what she was talking about, coming? They were always coming, but where were they going since they were screwing. It makes me laugh so hard still.

3. What type of stories would you like to write but haven’t yet? Menage, BDSM or a sexless romance. The sexless romance should come with a warning. Don’t you think?
I’m pretty sure I couldn’t do a sexless romance. I’ve toyed with it, but then I get so into the characters driving my scenes and dam, they end up fucking! I don’t see a BDSM in my future. But then again you never know. I’m not quite sure what my books are going to be until I jump in. A lot of my stories serendipitous in how they come together. I keep piles of 3 x 5 cards with ideas, and i mean piles.

4. What’s your favorite thing to do when you aren’t writing or reading? What do you mean? Is there anything else? 🙂  We have 4 boys and love doing stuff with them, even if it’s simply dinner at the table for lively conversation. I’m really into animals, so I love spending time in the pastures, hanging out. We entertain a lot as well, my husband is an amazing cook and cocktaileur, so that’s a lot of what we do on weekends.

5. If you could have a dinner party and invite anyone to it, who would it be?  Celebrities, book boyfriends, intellectuals or anyone.  Name five people.
My deceased french grandmother. Gertrude Stein. Oprah. Albert Einstein. Steven Spielberg.

6. For bonus points, what’s your favorite swear word?
Fuck. There is no better swear word.

Rocking Author Terri Anne Browning Answers My Five Burning Questions & more

I discovered Terri Anlucyne Browning’s first book The Rocker Who Holds Me when Amazon thankfully popped into my recommendations list. Needless to say, I have been hooked on this beautiful, sexy and sometimes tragic rocker tale. If you’ve not read this rocker series, jump on board and get ready for this 12 part adventure that has sadly come to an end. The final chapter Forever Rockers is available now.  Don’t despair she’s launched a new spin off series for Harris and Lucy who we see grow up in this series and who we know are obviously meant to be. Fingers crossed! The first in the series Catching Lucy is currently FREE with Kindle Unlimted so get started  now!!  Pre-order the latest in the series Rocking Kin available on June 21st.  Lucy & Harris are two kids that are meant to be each others forever loves.

Check out Terri Anne’s on Amazon page for a complete listing of her rocker and MC series that are available now.

Terri Anne took timForever Rockerse out of writing the next Lucy & Harris novels to answer my five burning questions and they don’t disappoint.

1. Let’s start off with Kill, Marry or Screw? Gideon Cross, Kellan Kyle or Shane?

Kill…no way

Screw…fucking all three!

Marry…Shane. The way Shabe treats Harper, who wouldn’t want that everyday for the rest of their lives?

2. Do you remember the first romance book you ever read? Can you tell me about it?  EDITORS NOTE: I think mine was Bitch by Jackie Collins and I was about 10 or 11.

rockers 3OMG! I was 12 and I was struggling to read. I have dyslexia so even at the age of 12 I couldn’t read very well. My aunt gave me one of her little Harliquin novellas and from then on I was hooked. I can’t remember the title or who wrote it, but I can remember every moment of that book because for the first time in my life I WANTED to read. I read 200 books that summer and by the new school year I was making honor roll.

3.  What type of stories would you like to write but haven’t yet? Menage, BDSM or a sexless romance. The sexless romance should come with a warning. Don’t you think?

I’m going to try my hand at M/M and F/F in an upcoming novella collection feature some of everyone’s favorite secondary characters. Mieke, Kenzie, Linc and Jenna will be featured in their own novellas in the collection.

4. Writing a series of 12 volumes how do you keep track of everyone’s story?

Lots and lots of notes! Lol. It also helps that I go back and re-read the last book before I start on the newest ones. But these characters have such strong and differing personalities that it isn’t nearly as hard as some think.

5. If you could have a dinner party and invite anyone to it, who would it be?  Celebrities, book boyfriends, intellectuals or anyone.  Name five people.

Top of the list? Sylvia Day, hands down. I think I rockers2would be a nervous wreck and fan girl for about five minutes but once I’ve calmed down I would pick her brain.  Lol

2) The Winchester brothers. I’m half in love with Dean and it wouldn’t be the same if we left Sam out. 😉

3)  Alexander Skarsgård because, hey, Tarzan and Eric Northman. Need I say more?

4) All the loved ones I’ve lost over the years, especially my dad. That would be one hell of a family reunion.

5) Lastly, my seventeen year old self. So I can tell her that life was going to be hard in the coming years, and sometimes she will want to give up, but it gets a hell of a lot better.

6. For bonus points, what’s your favorite swear word?

Just one??? Fuck! Is the word I use at least 25 times a day.

Check out this Interview with Violet & Alex from the Pucked series

puckedupThe talented Helena Hunting has taken time out of her busy writing schedule to participate in my interview with the beloved Violet and Alex from the Pucked series.

We all fell in love with Violet and Alex in Pucked and haven’t stopped loving them and the Super MC.   If you haven’t read this series then get on board and be prepared to wet your pants with laughter.

Check out the audio books here-Pucked, Pucked Up, and Pucked Over.  You can also enter to win the newly released Audio book of Pucked up today!  Scroll down for the link to the giveaway.

A super MC sized thanks to Violet and Alex for taking the time to do the interview. Read it and weep, in a good way.:}  Stalk Helena on social media at the links below.

1. How’s married life treating you? What’s your favorite part?
Violet: Married life is awesome. I don’t think it’s really changed much about how we are together, apart from Alex being fond of calling me wife and introducing me as his wife. My favorite part was the honeymoon. I got to hug the Super MC a lot and spend some serious quality time with Alex, too, so that’s nice.

Alex: You do know that my dick isn’t separate from me, right?

Violet: *rolls her eyes* Well of course, but Super MC is kind of like his own man, which is why I dressed him up in a Fruit Roll Up cape and ate it off. Actually, I think that was my favorite part of the honeymoon.

What about you Alex?
Alex: My favorite part of the honeymoon came after the Fruit Roll Up.

I mean how’s married life treating you and what’s your favorite part?
Alex:
Oh, right. Married life is great. Violet’s been working from home a bit, and we’re in the off-season now so we have more time together, so that’s been amazing. I just love that she’s finally mine forever, and not in a creepy, weird way, but an I’m a lucky guy way. Does that make sense? Maybe you should take that last part out.

3d nyt2. Did you dress up the Super MC for Easter? Did he put eggs in your basket?
Violet:
I actually wasn’t allowed to dress up the Super MC for Easter, which was sad. But I came up with another great idea, and Alex liked that one—

Alex: Please don’t tell them about the body paint.

Violet: Why not? I thought it was hilarious when your balls were decorated like Easter eggs and you didn’t seem to mind me licking it all off after the fact.

Alex: I think we need to discuss the kind of personal facts you disclose during interviews.

Violet: Everyone already knows about our sex life, that’s why we were invited to do this interview.

3. Before you met Alex who was your ideal perfect man?
Violet: I don’t know that I had an ideal man. I mean, I guess I thought I knew what I wanted and then Alex came along and blew all those preconceived notions out of the water. When I met Alex I thought he was hot and he was an amazing kisser, but then we started talking, and I realized that beyond being superhot and built like a God, he’s also sweet, generous, kind, passionate and so, so smart. And to me that’s sexy.

4. If you hadn’t met Alex, which one of his team mates might you have ended up with?
Violet:
Um, none? *glances at Alex who’s clenching his jaw* I never thought I’d end up with a hockey player in the first place, so the idea that I might’ve dated anyone else on Buck’s team isn’t something I’ve ever considered. I probably would have dated a guy from my financial firm, but not in my department, because that would be awkward. Maybe someone from the sixth floor or something.

Alex: What guy on the sixth floor?

Violet: I’m speaking hypothetically. I have no idea if there are any dateable guys on the sixth floor at all. And I’m married to you, so I have no interest in downgrading from you to anyone else, baby.

5. Bonus question: What’s your favorite swear word?
Violet: Fuckerdoodles
Alex: Motherfucker

My 5 Burning Questions with Rachel Van Dyken

Matchmakers Playbook coverRachel Van Dyken is one of those amazing authors to give you the occasional break from the broody dark romances. Her new book is The Matchmaker’s Playbook where we meet Ian Hunter whose sports career was cut short and he’s back going to University. I can only imagine the expolsion that will happen when those two finally take all that hate and turn it to heat. The Matchemaker’s Playbook is now available on Kindle Unlimited for FREE.

Author SD Hendrickson Answers My Five Burning Questions & more

First let me sWaiting for wyattay that I was introduced to SD Hendrickson by an epic review from Aestas blog for last years top 10 books Mason’s List. This book if you haven’t read it is heart breaking but also beautifully told. Don’t worry they get their HEA but you’ll have cried sad and happy but the end of the book. Read it now you’ll be glad you went on this journey. SD is a true story teller and I lover her books. Trust me you will too.

Her recent book Waiting for Wyatt: (A Red Dirt Novel) is another great story to sink your teeth into or maybe throw your Kindle. I am honored that SD took a few minutes out of her hectic writing schedule to answer my five burning questions. I loved this interview especially her selection of hot boys to have dinner with so don’t skip it.

1. Let’s start off with Kill, Marry or Screw? Gideon Cross, Kellan Kyle or Wyatt?

Well, this is interesting.  I haven’t read either of those other series. Gasp! Since I haven’t, I’ll throw this in another direction.  I’ll play using my three main characters.
Jess (The Mason List), Wyatt (Waiting for Wyatt), Lucky (My Lucky Days)
Screw: Lucky.  He’s the type. Marry: Jess. Because he’s the childhood best friend. Kill: Wyatt. That’s a hard one.

2.  Do you remember the first romance book you ever read? Can you tell me about it?  I think mine was Bitch by Jackie Collins and I was about 10 or 11.

I have read romance as long as I can remember – which has been decades.  I can’t remember the first.  But here’s some of my early favMasonslistorites. Tons of Danielle Steel. And I probably read The Thornbirds five times in high school. Really liked Judith Krantz Princess Daisy, Dazzle. I also considered The Vampire Diaries romance at the time. I read those in high school when they were originally published. And a huge amount of historical romance.  I loved Mary Jo Putney’s – Fallen Angel series.

3. What type of stories would you like to write but haven’t yet? Menage, BDSM or a sexless romance. The sexless romance should come with a warning. Don’t you think?

Interesting question. I don’t see myself writing menage or BDSM.  As for warnings on books.  I’ve read romance for a very long time.  Until indie romance existed, I had never seen any type of disclaimer on a book – one way or the other. In fact, I have yet to see a traditionally published book use one. (At least I haven’t’ seen one.)

My take.  I think explicit books should probably have a warning – just like movies do.  But I don’t think books without sex should have some stamp that says “sexless book”. The explicit warning would take care of that on both sides.

I read all levels of steam in books.  But I don’t expect steam in those books. I’m looking for a good story.  And if the story warrants some awesome sex scenes, then great. But if the story is truly good, then it doesn’t matter to me if there’s explicit sex scenes or not in the book.

4. What’s your favorite thing to do when you aren’t writing or reading?

I still work full-time.  And write on the side.  That takes up time.  But I love going to the movies.  And I’m a Netflix junkie. Watched all of Sons of Anarchy on there. Chuck. Veronica Mars. Working on Justified and The Walking Dead.

5. If you could have a dinner party and invite anyone to it, who would it be?  Celebrities, book boyfriends, intellectuals or anyone.  Name five people.

I saw Leylah Attar’s answer.  We have a mutual celebrity interest. I would also invite Ian Somerhalder. Although I would probably just stare at him and not talk.

I think to make the dinner party interesting and I included a picture

IMG_2952 Here’s five “characters.”

Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder) sitting next to Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) – discussing sparkly vampires – real or fake, which prompts Damon to rip out Edward’s heart. And then across from them I would put Batman (Christian Bale).  Because he hates bats and would be on edge because the vampires might turn into into bats. And The Lone Ranger (Armie Hammer) who is sitting there thinking, “Tonto must have slipped something in my drink because WTF are these people”. And watching me from the end of the table, Ryan Gosling (as The Ryan Gosling) – “Hey Girl, let me make that dinner for you”.

6. For bonus points, what’s your favorite swear word?

I don’t know if I have a favorite.  Probably shit. It can be a noun, verb, or adjective.  And most people don’t cringe when you drop a shit or two

My Favorite Characters Interview: That’s What He Said!!

rachelvdToday I launch a new column, which is an interview with my favorite book characters. These are characters I love because they make me laugh and weak in the knees. This character inspired me to do this column was Max from Rachel Van Dyken’s Consequence series. This series is one of the rare ones that can mix a touching love story, compelling characters with a fun sense of humor. If you are fan of Helena Hunting or Debra Anastasia’s books then you will love this series. Max and his hot brother Reid will be your favorite book boyfriends forever. You might even the drug induced lecherous Granny, a reality show contestant and a cheeky goat. I am sure it sounds outrageous but all this makes a fun and touching set of love stories.

Right now they are all FREE on Kindle Unlimited so download them today and enjoy this series.

The Consequence of Loving Colton Book 1
The Consequence of Revenge Book 2
The Consequence of Seduction Book 3

scottspeedmanLiamneesonToday Max took a few minutes out of his world domination to answer my five burning questions.  Reid joined him to keep him honest and from saying something he shouldn’t.  For privacy purposes, Max refused to send me real photos of himself and his famous actor brother Reid so he sent me celebrities that he feels best represent them.

Reid: Max for the record Liam Neeson is in is 50’s.
Max: Yeah, but you kind of look like that guy and I heard he’s got a large a large Irish trouser snake.  You’ll thank me later.
Reid: Fine, but in future could you use that picture of Chris Evans.
Max: Whatever, like you’d ever be Captain America.  I am way more Captain America than you.  Let’s do this so I can get back to planning my run for president.

1.   Let’s start off with Kill, Marry or Screw?
Max:
GASP! I think I would kill Reid, oh wait you mean women right? Okay so I’m going to kill Jessica Biel because I’m still pissed she hasn’t responded to any of my origami notes, I’ll Marry Kate Upton because we’d make hot kids, and screw? Can I screw them all? OH ha, wait, thats Reids, job, Reid? Care to interject anytime here.
Reid: Nope, not even touching that one.

consequence2.  What would you do if could do anything in the world?
Max:
What I do now, which is basically sit in a giant ass chair and look over New York city like I own it, which I will, in five point two years.
Reid: You have to excuse my brother, world domination’s kind of his thing now, and I would want to act, we were both told to go after our dreams, though I wasn’t sure my parents truly thought that through when they said hey Max you can be whatever you want to be, Tyrant wasn’t really an option you know?

3.  What do you love most about your girl?
Max: I love that she puts up with me, I love that she gives me lots of the sex, but really, I love that at the end of the day, when she’s exhausted, she still talks to me, cares about our relationship, and is a good listener.
Reid: Wow Max that was really romantic–
Max: I also like how she looks in short skirts and tall boots, damn those tall boots.
Reid: Just kidding. *sighs* I love that Jordan is a “take me as I am” type of girl, I dig that she’s so talented at what she does and makes no apologies.
Max: *yawns*

revenge4.  What animal are you most afraid of?
Max: It used to be goats, but now I’m happy to say the only animal I’m afraid of is the one that wakes up in place of my wife during that time of the month, haha feel me? NO? NO high five? Okay fine, I’m still afraid of squirrels alright?
Reid: I have no fears. Only Max taking over the world.

5.  Finally who is really your mom’s favorite?
Max: I think we both know the answer but last time we asked her, she laughed when I offered up Reids name first, laughed, so I think from that evidence we can only gather that, the idea he would be the favorite is laughable.
Reid: He spiked her lemonade. Thats all I’m saying.

6.   For bonus points, what’s your favorite swear word?
Max: I have to pick one? Okay I like Hell, because thats where Reids going to go if he doesn’t start doing better in the bedroom with Jordan you know?
Reid: Is this interview over yet? No? Damn it, there you go, thats my word, though to be fair, I give all swear words equal opportunity especially when Im with Max.

Author Jay Crownover Answers My Five Burning Questions & more

RuleI discovered Jay Crownover’s book Rule: A Marked Men Novel a few years ago and I was hooked into her world of flawed tattooed men forever.  Did I mention they are hot too? I’ve read all of her books now and enjoy them for her ability to write alpha men that show you a different story and attitude than you’ve read in the past. In her latest book Built: Saints of Denver, we have Zeb who is my favorite kind of alpha one with a heart but also with a dirty mouth. Zeb breaks down Sawyers walls with his giant sledgehammer. Did I mention he refurbishes old homes? Swoon. Jay has done something that no one has ever been able to do in my life, get me to love men with beards. I tip my hat to her for making it work for me. Insert applause!

Jay took time out of her busy day of writing our favorite stories to answer my five burning questions. Check out her answers and where you can follow her on social media or pick up one of her books.

1. Let’s start off with Kill, Marry or Screw? Gideon Cross, Kellan Kyle or Zeb?

None of the above for any of the things….I love Zeb but he’s too nice for me and the other two are not my type of guy…but they aren’t bad enough to want dead or anything.

2.  Do you rJaycrownoveremember the first romance book you ever read? Can you tell me about it?  I think mine was Bitch by Jackie Collins and I was about 10 or 11.

My first romance was Texas Sage by Sandra Brown and then the entire trilogy about the siblings. I loved it then and I love it now…at 16 I though it was scandalous…now I think it’s just a solid family saga romance which is my favorite. And cowboys…cowboys are always hot…

3. What type of stories would you like to write but haven’t yet? Menage, BDSM or a sexless romance. The sexless romance should come with a warning. Don’t you think?

No I don’t think it needs a warning. That’s like saying books with cheating or cliff hangers should have a warning…I don’t think a reader needs to know what’s coming…or what isn’t coming. That’s why you read to find out what the story holds…I would never write BDSM…not my jam…I don’t know about menage..also not my particular wheelhouse and I like sex in my books so a clean romance isn’t in my future either…I’ve pretty much written everything I’ve wanted to…until a new idea strikes. I just roll with whatever story is in my head and hope for the best.

markedmen4. What’s your favorite thing to do when you aren’t writing or reading?

I watch a lot of TV and I shop…I also travel a lot which is awesome. I’m pretty simple…doesn’t take much for me to find myself a good time.

5. If you could have a dinner party and invite anyone to it, who would it be?  Celebrities, book boyfriends, intellectuals or anyone.  Name five people.

1. My grandma so she could see how far I’ve come

2. My high school English Teacher so he could see his faith in me was warranted

3. Cora Carmack because she’s my person

4. Edgar Allen Poe

5. Quentin Tarantino

6. For bonus points, what’s your favorite swear word?

Fuck You. Fuck This. Fuck That.
