The Hilarious Author Meghan Quinn Answers my 5 Burning Questions & more

dearlifeHappy 2017!! I discovered author Meghan Quinn because of a 5 STAR review and binged read her other books. She’s known for her characters wit, heart and of course heat. If you want to laugh and get turned on at the same time I recommend any of her books. Meghan’s new book Dear Life is a change in tone and style (you might want a hankie) for her and all the reviews I’ve read are five star. If you are curious about her books, I started with Mother Road and then moved to her Olympic Swimmer series starting with Stroked and don’t miss her striper story Exposed. Any of these are amazing stories to dip your toe in the Meghan pool and then dive in!

Meghan took time out from writing characters we want to read to answer my five burning questions. Check out her answers here:

1.Let’s start off with Kill, Marry or Screw? Gideon Cross, Kellan Kyle or Bodi or Hollis?
Kill Gideon (I do love him, but someone had to get the axe), Marry Bodi because, well, he’s the most amazingly sweet man ever, and screw Kellan. Kellan was my first ever book boyfriend.

MEghanQuinn2. Do you remember the first romance book you ever read? Can you tell me about it? EDITOR NOTE:  I think mine was Bitch by Jackie Collins and I was about 10 or 11.
How to Lasso a Cowboy. I was in high school and my mom was letting me read just about anything. I don’t think she was aware what was in it because hello penis!!!

3.What type of stories would you like to write but haven’t yet? Menage, BDSM or a sexless romance. The sexless romance should come with a warning. Don’t you think? Writing a children’s book would be fun one day since I have a little boy now. That would be completely out of my realm for sure. And I’ve been trapped by so many sexless romances it’s insane. They should all come with a warning!

4. As you write series, what’s your process for keeping track of characters and storylines? My crazy head. I have some notes in a spiral notebook, but I really should do a better job. Maybe if I wrote more notes, I wouldn’t forget daily activities since my head is so clogged with characters.

5. Ifstroked you could have a dinner party and invite anyone to it, who would it be?  Hmm, well, I would have to start with Derek Jeter because I’m a sports girl and I love him. Alan Jackson because he’s the best male singer ever. Tom Hanks because who doesn’t want a little Hanx in their life? Ellen DeGeneres because I really think we could be best friends. And finally Joanna Gaines because I want to learn from her about building an empire!

6. For bonus points, what’s your favorite swear word? Fuck of course. Is there any other swear word?

5 by 5 Q&A with Jane Harvey-Berrick talks Her Choice for Kill, Marry or Screw

onecarefulownerUpdate:  One of my favorite author Jane Harvey-Berrick has a new book out One Careful Owner: Love Me, Love My Dog. How could you not love told from the POV of man and his dog.

When the description says, WARNING! This book will break your heart!
From the best-selling romance author of THE EDUCATION OF SEBASTIAN comes a sexy, heart-breaking and heart-warming story about one man and his dog.

You know you are going on a amazing ride. Jane was one of the first authors to answer my five burning questions. Check out her new book and her answers if you missed them last time.

Enjoy!

travelingwoman traveling manJane Harvey-Berrick is one of my favorite authors.  She wrote one of my all time favorite books The Education of Sebastian & Caroline.  If you haven’t read this epic novel then you should!! I’ve read it at least four times.  You won’t be disappointed!

Her back catalog is made of amazing 5 star reads Lifers, Playing in the Rain, At Your Beck & Call and so many more.  Check out her Amazon page for all her books.

Jane’s got a new series Traveling Man & Traveling Woman out about the carnival life and love.  Jane’s written another amazing series about an interesting and different slice of life.  A must read!

You can buy the books here:  Traveling Man & Traveling Woman

I asked Jane to answer my 5 by 5 questions and here’s what she said.

1. Let’s startTyler as Kes off with Kill, Marry or Screw? Gideon Cross, Kellan Kyle or Kestrel Donohue?
Jeez, start with the easy ones, why don’t you?! Um, okay, [starts to sweat]. I’d have to say marry Kestrel because I fell in love with him while I was writing him, but that’s tricky too, because I’ve gotten to know Tyler Gattuso who is the model in the covers. I don’t think he does cougars LOL.

Gideon versus Kellan – hmm. Toss a coin!

2. Do you remember the first romance book you ever read? Can you tell me about it? I think mine was Bitch by Jackie Collins and I was about 10 or 11.
PRIDE AND PREJUDICE by Jane Austen. I had to read it for school and at first I found that world really hard, but by the second class, I fell in love with the story and have been a Jane Austen fan ever since. But my absolute favorite is PERSUASION: a story about a middle-aged woman (for those times) who has given up on love but is given a second chance with the love of her life. Perfect.

3. What type of stories would you like to write but haven’t yet? Menage, BDSM or a sexless romance. The sexless romance should come with a warning. Don’t you think?
There’s a paranormal idea sitting in my ‘book ideas’ folder. I don’t know if it’ll make it into a book, but it might!
I’ve written about a male escort (AT YOUR BECK & CALL) and he had group sex and couples sex, helped voyeurs get off, and got into once with a guy at a party. So that angle is covered. Nah, I’ll pass on BDSM. I wrote a lot of FSOG fanfiction, so I think I’ve gotten that out of my system 😉

A sexless romance? I’ve done slow-burning stories, where the couples get together much later on. But yes, I wrote a thriller, EXPOSURE, where you’re kind of left guessing about the sex.

4. What’s your favorite thing to do when you aren’t writing or reading?
Walking on the beach with my little dog. Clears my mind, but also the time when I get my best ideas.

5. What is the one thing you’d like people to know about you when reading your books?
I write what I want to read myself. I don’t write because it’s “the new thing” like all the stepbrother books that came out after Penelope Ward. That’s probably not entirely fair, because inspiration takes many forms. I was inspired by FIFTY SHADES OF GREY, but when I started writing my own stories, creating my own worlds is the part that I enjoy the most.

I’ve written two plays, as well, both of which are being performed this summer. One is for children, a romp with pirates and smugglers and lots of music, but the other is a tough, uncompromising play for adults. It’s a tough subject, about an ex-soldier who is suffering from PTSD. The mini tour is raising money for the UK charity www.felixfund.org.uk It’s a charity that helps men and women – and their families – who were bomb disposal personnel in the military. A close friend of mine worked in that area, so yeah, very important to me. https://www.facebook.com/LaterAfterNEWDRAM

6. For bonus points, what’s your favorite swear word?

British ones are so much better than US ones.   Tosser!

Thanks Jane!!

Check out JB Heller’s Answers to My 5 Burning Questions & more

What If It's Right Ebook
As someone who writes romance stories where the woman are older than the men, I immediately 1-clicked this book by J.B. Heller called What if It’s Right? Boy was I glad I did! This book is a sweet and sexy story about attraction and finding the right person in someone unexpected.   Great stories of older woman and younger men are few and far between this one is a credit to the genre. You’ll fall in love with Weston from the minute you meet him and he’ll fight for you to do it.

J.B. took a few minutes from her busy schedule writing her next book to answer my five burning questions. Check out her answers below and her other books which are all different flavors.

1. Let’s start off with Kill, Marry or Screw? Gideon Cross, Kellan Kyle or Weston?
I’m not going to lie, and I’m so ashamed of this fact, but I haven’t met Kellan yet… or Gideon. Don’t hate me! I just haven’t made it there yet, but I will, one day. So I’ll replace them with some of my own. Christian Grey, Travis Maddox and Weston… I’d kill Christian… that dude has more issues than I do, it could never work. I’d screw Travis and enjoy every single moment of it. And I’d marry Weston, he’s so sweet, great in bed, and just the right amount of Alpha.

2. Do you reVDnewJjJmember the first romance book you ever read? Can you tell me about it?  NOTE: I think mine was Bitch by Jackie Collins and I was about 10 or 11.
I actually wasn’t a reader until I was in my early 20’s. I feel like I cheated myself. But then I watched twilight, and then I read it. Books are always SO much better than the movies. Anyway, so began my love affair with reading. I read that whole series countless times. So much so that my husband thought I’d become obsessed *rolls eyes*. But the first indie romance that really left it’s mark on me was Beautiful Disaster. And the rest is history.

3. What type of stories would you like to write but haven’t yet? Menage, BDSM or a sexless romance. The sexless romance should come with a warning. Don’t you think?
Sexless romance… Uh no, I don’t think so. My mind is way too perverted, plus, to me sex is an essential part in the growth of a relationship. Therefore an essential part of my books. You can tell a lot about a person by how they are in the sack. Sometimes I fantasise about writing a mermaid book… something like Ariel and Prince Phillip, but sexy.

4. As you write sVDnewCcCeries, what’s your process for keeping track of characters and storylines?
I am a self-confessed stationery addict, so I have more notebooks than I’ll ever need (but I’ll never stop buyingthem!).
When a storyline is born I like to write out a basic overview of it, then break down each character. You know like hair colour, eyes, style, that kind of thing. It helps me keep track of individual traits that I sometimes get mixed up on. Then as I’m going I jot down notes here and there just to keep things straight in my head.

5. If you could have a dinner party and invite anyone to it, who would it be?  Celebrities, book boyfriends, intellectuals or anyone.  Name five people.
Some of my dearest friends in the world live on the other side of the world and we’ve never actually met in person. Living in Australia when all my close author friends are in the US is irritating at best. I’d love more than anything to be able to sit down with them and chill out, drink wine, laugh and actually be able to embrace them. So I’d have to say, 1- Faith S Lynn. 2- T.J. Tims. 3- Stevie J VDnewJjCole. 4- Jacqueline Ayres. & 5- Channing Tatum… shirtless… and serving our drinks then performing Magic Mike like dance moves for our viewing pleasure.

 6. For bonus points, what’s your favorite swear word?

Shit. I say shit a lot. I drop the F-bomb a fair bit too, but I’m trying to cut back on that one since my 5 year old told our dog to fuck off the other day. #parentingfail

Check out Alison Bliss’s Answers to My 5 Burning Questions & more

I firsizemattersst read Alison’s book Rules of Protection (Tangled in Texas Book 1) back in September of 2014 and loved it. When I read several great reviews for her new book Size Matters I thought I’d ask her to answer my five burning questions. Enter Alison’s giveaway to win a copy of her new book here!

Enjoy her fun answers to the hot five questions!

 1. Let’s start off with Kill, Marry or Screw? Gideon Cross, Kellan Kyle or Sam?
Oh, man. I hate killing any of them. Okay, if I have to, then I guess I would kill Gideon Cross, screw Sam, and marry Kellan Kyle. I would’ve married Sam, since he’s pretty nice to look at (see pic). But after what he did to my heroine’s parents, I’m not too sure taking him home to meet the family would be such a good idea.

2. Do you remember the first romance book you ever read? Can you tell me aboutMuscled male model in studioit? NOTE: I think mine was Bitch by Jackie Collins and I was about 10 or 11.
That was so long ago that I really have no clue which book I read first, though I’m certain it was a novel by V.C. Andrews since I had a huge fascination with those books in my teen years. A lot of those stories centered around family secrets but there was a great deal of romance in them as well.

3. What type of stories would you like to write but haven’t yet? Menage, BDSM or a sexless romance. The sexless romance should come with a warning. Don’t you think?
Ha! It totally should! I can promise you that I’ll never write a book that has no sex in it. Those are usually my favorite scenes to write. LOL Although I haven’t actually dabbled in the erotica genre at all yet, I could see trying my hand at one of those. But mostly, I have a couple of books I’d like to write that cross the romance sub-genre into paranormal and Sci-Fi.

alisonbliss4. As you write series, what’s your process for keeping track of characters and storylines?
Interestingly enough, I don’t have a process. I always claim to have the worst memory ever, but when it comes to my characters, I tend to remember everything about them and their stories. Even down to each individual’s eye color. That may change as I get more and more books out, though.

5. If you could have a dinner party and invite anyone to it, who would it be? Celebrities, book boyfriends, intellectuals, or anyone. Name five people.
Tough question! I’m tempted to name five really hot celebrities and call it date night (LOL), but I won’t since there are some other people I’d love to invite. I never got the chance to meet either of my grandfathers before they died so they would be my first two choices. My third guest would be Linda Howard, who is my absolute favorite author. Then I would invite Albert Einstein just because I think it would interesting to pick his brain for an evening. And my fifth dinner invite would go out to Christian Grey. So yeah, I’m pretty sure this would be the most awkward evening ever…but it would make for some interesting dinner conversation.

6. For bonus points, what’s your favorite swear word?
You mean to tell me we were using a point system in this interview, and I didn’t even know it? Fuck. (I guess that answers that question.)

Author Jay McLean Answers My Five Burning Questions & more

Lucas KDPYou know those writers that when they announce a new book you get excited all tingly about it. You 1-click it, you double check the release dates waiting for it to show up on your Kindle. When it finally does show up, you make sure you’ve the dogs been walked, the kids are fed and your husband is binge watching his favorite show. You get your Kindle and fire it up to take you away. Come on you know those authors? Well Jay is one of those authors for me! Her book Kick Push about a single father gave me a grade one Colleen Hoover Book Hangover and that was it. Fan for life!

Jay’s got a new brother series out now and I LOVE brother series.   They are my second favorite only to rocker stories for me. Check out the first in her new series Lucas, its free in Kindle Unlimited now. Thanks to Jay for sitting down and taking the time to answer my five burning questions. You’ll enjoy her answers as much as her books. Check her books out here and her social media.

Lucas M1. Let’s start off with Kill, Marry or Screw? Gideon Cross, Kellan Kyle or Lucas?
Oh… jeez. I’d kill Gideon Cross, screw Kellan, and Mary Lucas. LOL. Is that bad? I kinda like Luke (I couldn’t write a hero I didn’t like.)

<<–Lucas Medeiros is my Lucas muse.

2. Do you remember the first romance book you ever read? Can you tell me about it? EDITOR’S NOTE:  I think mine was Bitch by Jackie Collins and I was about 10 or 11.
My first romance novel is the same as millions of others, believe it or not. It was the Fifty Shades Trilogy. It’s what got me into reading. Then I read the Thoughtless Series, and that’s what got me into Book boyfriends. And then Slammed, and slammed is what got me to fall in love with words. I started reading about six months before I pKick Pushublished my first book. I wasn’t one of those girls you’d catch sneaking in reads when it was bed time. I was definitely late to find my passion in life. I feel sorry for myself that I missed out on so much. I’m currently going through a classic literature phase. I’m collecting old Shakespeare!

3. What type of stories would you like to write but haven’t yet? Menage, BDSM or a sexless romance. The sexless romance should come with a warning. Don’t you think?
LOL! I write erotica/BDSM/menage when I feel the urge, but I would never release it, at least not under my name. I’d have to come up with a different pen name so my YA readers don’t freak the hell out. Also, I’ve tried to write a little sexier with my NA titles, a little more alpha, a little naughtier, but those guys (seriously) are just too damn sweet and they end up declaring their love pre-penetration and it ends up vanilla and downhill from there.

Morethanhis4. As you write series, what’s your process for keeping track of characters and storylines?
I have zero standard process. I don’t even know how I end up with a complete book sometimes. Like, if you asked me how I wrote Lucas, I wouldn’t even be able to tell you. When I’m writing, I kind of just zone out. It seems to work so far. The only downside I’ve noticed is that I recycle names. A lot. And it’s horrible. I’ve used the same names so many times in so many different books. Sigh.

5. If you could have a dinner party and invite anyone to it, who would it be? Celebrities, book boyfriends, intellectuals or anyone. Name five people.
I would seriously invite my readers. No lie. The majority of my reader base is in the US, and being from Australia, it’s kind of tough just to hang out with them and get nerdy over my books. My best friend would be next to me (she lives in NJ) and my twoLucas teaser 5 best mayhem partners (they know who they are) would be on the other side. I may invite Scott Eastwood and Ryan Sheckler, just for funzies.

6. For bonus points, what’s your favorite swear word?
My favorite swear word would be fuck. And maybe the C word (Sorry YA Readers). I’m Australian, though, the C word can sometimes be used in the form of a greeting.

A.L. Jackson Answers My Five Burning Questions & more

aljackson3
Author A.L. Jackson came to my attention with the book Come to Me Quietly series and I have been a convert ever since. When her new rock star series came out, A Stone in the Sea, I knew I was in for a treat. This series is one of my all time favorites and it’s not your typical rock romance. There’s no life on the road this is about a tormented rock star trying to escape from his life and finding refuge in a small town. The rest of the books are all about his band mates and family who you will fall in love with during this series. A must read, be warned you will get an HEA but you’ll need a supply of tissues, wine and chocolate for your journey.

I can’t thank A.L. enough for taking time out of her busy writing schedule to answer my five burning questions.  Enjoy!

Here’s the questions:

1. Let’s start off with Kill, Marry or Screw? Gideon Cross, Kellan Kyle or Brian?   Kill Brain, Marry Kellan, screw Gideon.

2. Do you remember the first romance book you ever read? Can you tell me about it? EDITORS NOTE: I think mine was Bitch by Jackie Collins and I was about 10 or 11.

AL JacksonGone with the Wind. I was 8 and was in love. I never stopped reading romances after that!

AL Jackson 23. What type of stories would you like to write but haven’t yet? Menage, BDSM or a sexless romance. The sexless romance should come with a warning. Don’t you think?

I’ve been itching to write a full-blown paranormal romance. I’ve had a plot I’m in love with for YEARS, but I haven’t taken the dive to actually do it. One of these days….

4. As you write series, what’s your process for keeping track of characters and storylines?

I have a journal I keep with a vague plot, plus notes I jot all throughout. I definitely do a lot of searching through the document to remember different events, names, etc though!

5. If you could have a dinner party and invite anyone to it, who would it be? Celebrities, book boyfriends, intellectuals or anyone. Name five people.Craig Owens

Oh this is hard! Okay…

1 ) Nora Roberts because I would love to pick her brain about being such a prolific writer. I’m always amazed at her ability to have written so many books while keeping it fresh and interesting.

2) Craig Owens who is my real life fan girl crush. Y’all know I like my boys on a stage, tattooed and screaming!

3) Lyrik West (my own personal fantasy book boyfriend.) I’d write him a million times over if I could

4) Ernest Hemingway

5) Why can’t I think of one more person? I’m thinking this will be an “intimate” gathering LOL

6. For bonus points, what’s your favorite swear word?
F*ck, of course

Author M. Leighton Answers My Five Burning Questions & more….

We all are suckers for our heroines or heroes who have to over come something life changing to be together. This is one of those magical, sweet and steamy romances that you will devour in one sitting. No matter how bad you have to go pee, you’ll take your kindle with you. Don’t deny it we all all do it.

Levi is a blue-eyed businessman visiting Louisiana when he meets a blind artist, Evie at her art show. There’s baggage in each of their history and you think you understand their struggles but there’s more to it than meets the eye.

Trust me after you’ve read Levi’s Blue you’ll want to check out her other books.

Thank you to M. for taking the time to answer my five burning questions.  Here answer will make you laugh and tear up a little bit just like her books.  This one really rocks!

Levisblue

Here’s the questions.

1. Let’s start off with Kill, Marry or Screw? Gideon Cross, Kellan Kyle or Levi?

OMG! Could this question be ANY harder??  Okay, I wouldn’t kill any of them. I know that for sure. I think I’d marry Levi or Kellan and screw Gideon. And hope Levi and Kellan didn’t know about each other. Or Gideon.  And that I don’t get arrested:D  LMAO

2. Do you remember the first romance book you ever read?  Can you tell me about it?  EDITOR: I think mine was Bitch by Jackie Collins and I was about 10 or 11.

Honestly, I don’t remember the exact first one, or what age I was, but I can tell you the first one that stuck with me.  I “borrowed” it from my mother, and it was called The Wolf and the Dove by Kathleen Woodiwiss.  It’s historical, so that tells you a lot about it right there.  The heroine was pure and proper, but feisty and strong, too.  The hero was broken and made me swoon, and I may have compared boys to him for a very long time. Holy smokes, I think I was in love with Wulfgar for the better part of my teens and twenties:) LOL  That book has everything a good romance should include, right down to the bodice-ripping.

Mleighton23. What type of stories would you like to write but haven’t yet? Menage, BDSM or a sexless romance. The sexless romance should come with a warning. Don’t you think?

I guess I’d have to say menage since I’ve touched on the others. I also have a burning desire to write an intricate mystery thriller.  Like REALLY intricate.  Brilliant.  And maybe one day I will.  *crosses fingers*  As for the warnings on sexless romance, for me, I don’t need a warning.  I’m old enough to remember when MOST romances were sexless.  I think romance is all about the heart and the heat, not necessarily the kink:)

mleighton4. You’ve written series before how do you trackeveryone’s back story?

I keep notes.  Not very organized ones, but I DO keep track of important character details.  God forbid I ever have to go back a long way, though.  I feel sure they’re not detailed enough to pick up and run with after a certain amount of time has passed. hehe  I’d probably have to re-read the books.  Or ask my readers. I’ve noticed that many of them have an amazing retention of those types of details.  It’s incredible and incredibly humbling:)

5. If you could have a dinner party and invite anyone to it, who would it be?  Celebrities, book boyfriends, intellectuals or anyone.  Name five people.

You didn’t say dead or alive, so I’m assuming they must be alive and not decaying around the dinner table:)  LOL

damonCash and Olivia Davenport.  They’re special characters to me anyway, but I’d love to meet them in person. Together.  I think their love, their relationship would be quite something to behold in real life.

Ian Somerhalder, but only if I weren’t married. And he wasn’t too inclined to press charges, because there would be some serious groping going on.  hehe

Ben Affleck, but only so I could kick him in the balls.

Miley Cyrus, but only so I could kick her in the balls, too.  *snort*

If my list can include dead people, that changes everything!  Just for kicks and giggles, here’s my list for that:

Jesus.  Because…Jesus.

Edgar Allen Poe. Because…brilliant.

JFK.  Because…I HAVE TO KNOW WHO DID IT!

Elvis. Because…He’s Elvis.  Those eyes, that face, those hips, that voice!  But if he couldn’t make it, I’d ask for Frank Sinatra:)

But I’d trade almost every single one of them for one more dinner with my dad.

6. For bonus points, what’s your favorite swear word?

Turd.  I don’t swear in real life:)

Mister Ball Peen Hammer Answers My Five Burning Questions and more

ballpeenhammer
Ball Peen Hammer by Lauren Rowe was one of my favorite books this summer and definitely my favorite funny romance in a good while. If you love Rachel Van Dyken or Helena Hunting books this will float your boat!! Keane has a great voice and I fell in love with him in this book, so I thought I’d see how he’d answer my five burning questions. Check out his responses they are funny, sweet and only Keane.

Here’s the description for Ball Peen Hammer if you haven’t read it yet.
“Keane Morgan wouldn’t return any of my calls or texts, and I was pissed as hell about it. I didn’t want to drive from Seattle to L.A. with the guy any more than he wanted to drive with me, but I had no frickin’ choice in the matter–at least, not if I wanted to use his brother Dax’s coveted parking spot at UCLA.

Okay, so it turned out Keane was objectively gorgeous, and, fine, pretty funny, too. But did he have to be so damned in love with himself? I mean, jeez, the cocky way he flashed those dimples was just soorchestrated. And, honestly, what kind of guy uses the phrase “baby doll” with a straight face? Oh, that’s right: the kind of guy who’s a male stripper.

Yup, the cocky jerk turned out to be Seattle’s answer to Magic Mike, a stripper known as “Ball Peen Hammer”–which meant Keane Morgan was emphatically not the kind of guy I’d ever fall for.

Not. At. All. No freakin’ way. Well, until Keane convinced me to fall for him, that is.  Which I did. Hard.
NOTE:
Ball Peen Hammer is a full-length, standalone sexy romantic comedy about Keane Morgan (one of four Morgan brothers introduced in The Club Series) and Maddy Milliken (the little sister of Hannah Banana Montana Milliken).

1.    Let’s start off with Kill, Marry or Screw?

Matt_NSelecting a person to kill, even hypothetically, is really bad karma, baby doll. I certainly don’t want someone plotting to kill me, so I’d better pass on that. Marriage? Pass. I’m too young to be making lifelong promises to anyone about anything. I can barely keep a promise to call my momma tomorrow. Screw? The only person I have any desire to screw these days is the one and only Maddy Behind the Camera, Madelyn Elizabeth Milliken. Yee-boy! Sexy girl.

2.   What would you do if could do anything in the world?

That’s easy. Pitch a no-hitter in the World Series.

3.

What do you love most about your girl?

Man, my girl Maddy’s a smart-girl. A helluva lot smarter than me, that’s for sure. And she’s funny as hell, too. (True story: Maddy made me laugh yesterday, right as I was I taking a sip of orange juice and it totally shot outta my nose, brah. Hilare.) And she’s talented, too. And so fucking sweet, sugar won’t even melt in her mouth. Most of all, though, I think I love the way she makes me feel about myself. She makes me feel like I can do anything–like I’m some kind of superhero. She makes me want to deserve the way she looks at me.

4.
What animal are you most afraid of?

Okay, bear with me here, brah. What’s that little animal that hides in bushes and then sneaks out and kills you? It’s a stealthy little fucker, but I can’t remember what it’s called. But, anyway, that’s the animal I’m most afraid of. Bee tee dubs, when I asked my best friend Zander what that animal is called, he was like, “A snake?” And I’m like, “No, dude. Not a snake. This stealthy fucker-thing is a mammal.” And Zander was like, “A stealthy mammal that hides in bushes and then sneaks out and kills you? You mean, a lion?” And I was like, “No, fuck! No, not a lion. It’s small.” And Zander replied, “And it sneaks out of bushes and kills you? There’s no such animal, Peenie Weenie. You’re high.” Well, fuck that! I’m positive that deadly little mammal exists, I just can’t remember what it’s called. So, yeah, whatever that thing is, my answer to your question is that. (And to answer the question that’s surely rolling around in your head right now: No, Zander and I were not drunk or stoned or otherwise chemically impaired during the conversation detailed above.)

Matt_n15.  Finally who is really your moms favorite?

There is no “really” needed in this wording of this question, son. If any of my three brothers or sister think it’s one of them, then I’d posit the following query: “Who gets extras every time Mom makes lasagna? And who makes Momatron laugh ‘til she literally pees? And who used to write Motherboard little poems when he was a little dude? That’s right, son, the one and only Keane Elijah Morgan. There’s no doubt Momma Lou loves me the most of all her five kids, and if my siblings disagree they can SUCK IT! *drops the mic* (Ain’t no shame in my game. I’m a momma’s boy through and through.)

6.For bonus points, what’s your favorite swear word?

Oh, man, that’s like asking me to pick a favorite child. I love all my children equally. But, okay, if pressed, then I’d say I’m an ardent fan of the word “fucker.”

Debut Author J.A. Little Answers My Five Burning Questions

JA Little Author

It’s been a long summer of moving house, writing and traveling, now is the time to bring back 5 burning questions.  Check out debut J.A. Little’s novel – Angel of Redemption.

I discovered this story from a 5 STAR review on the Schmexy Girl Blog and I wanted to spread the word about this book.  Dean Wyatt sparks all the things I love in romance, check out this description and the review and I think you’ll 1-click this book too.

Check out the description: Seasoned social worker Kayla Brooks has dealt with her fair share of difficult situations, but nothing could have prepared her for the likes of Dean Wyatt, head of Wyatt House Group Home for Boys. When a case unexpectedly brings Kayla to his door in the middle of the night, sparks fly. With a piercing gaze and heavily inked skin, Dean looks like a walking wet dream.

Until he turns out to be an asshole.

Dean Wyatt has always kept those around him at arm’s length. Secrets lurk beneath his tattoos—a traumatic past known to very few.

Forced to work together in order to help two vulnerable boys, Kayla slowly penetrates Dean’s tough exterior. Along the way the two discover something they’ve each been missing—but only time will tell if they can overcome the painful past that’s kept anyone from bringing true happiness into Dean’s world.

Check out J.A.’s answers to my five burning questions.

1. Let’s start off with Kill, Marry or Screw? Gideon Cross, Kellan Kyle or Dean?

*Ha! It’s so weird to even have that question asked b/c Gideon Cross and Kellan Kyle are so well known. I don’t like the idea of killing anyone. Screw . . . probably all 3 at some point, depending on mood. lol. Marry would definitely have to be Dean. I have an deeply emotional attachment to him already so it would be an easy step to take.

2. Do you remember the first romance book you ever read? Can you tell me about it?  EDITORS NOTE:  I think mine was Bitch by Jackie Collins and I was about 10 or 11.

* I honestly don’t remember my first romance. I do remember when I was about 14 getting ahold of one that was a period novel. Set in the 1800s maybe. I just remember them talking about his “pink member” and thinking “I’m not sure I’m supposed to be reading this.” Of course I did anyway.

charlieh3. What type of stories would you like to write but haven’t yet? Menage, BDSM or a sexless romance. The sexless romance should come with a warning. Don’t you think?

* Well, I have to start out by saying that I kind of “fell” into writing romance/adult novels. When I was younger, I wanted to be the female version of Stephen King. I wrote twisted poetry and horror. So romance really is fairly new for me. I think though, in the romance category, I really like to keep things real. Sex is a part of adult relationships so I’m not sure that I would ever write a sexless adult romance, but I’d probably tone it down quite a bit if I ended up writing other genres. I’m not sure that Menage or BDSM is really my style either, but I suppose I’ll never say never.

4. What’s your favorite thing to do when you aren’t writing or reading?

*I have four kids, so I am constantly running around taking people here and there and everywhere else. On the rare occasion I get time to myself though, I am a runner. I love just getting out and going whether it’s 3 miles or 10 miles. It clears my head and gets the adrenaline pumping. In the winters I also like to snowboard. And I really just enjoy having coffee or drinks with friends.

5. If you could have a dinner party and invite anyone to it, who would it be?  Celebrities, book boyfriends, intellectuals or aJKRowlingnyone.  Name five people.

*This is a hard one. It’s taken me over a week to figure this out, but this is what I’ve come up with.

1) Sia because she writes such raw and emotional music. I have been inspired by her more times than I can count and I am just awed at the way she puts it all out there.

2) JK Rowling because . . . because she’s JK Rowling. lol. It takes a lot of strength and determination to pick yourself up by your bootstraps the way that she did. She changed and inspired an entire generation. Her imagination and her ability to take people into a whole other world is astounding.

3) Charlie Hunnam – Does this one really need explanation? He could inspire me to write all sorts of stories.

4) H.G. Wells. – It seems to me like he knew far more about science fiction and the future than he should have at the time that he was writing novels. I’m curious as to how he came up with his ideas.

5) My Nana, because I miss her and love her and I wish she could see the compassionate and determined young man and the strong, independent daughters I am raising. She would proud of them.

6. For bonus points, what’s your favorite swear word?

*Shit is the word I use the most. But I always laugh when someone uses the word douchenozzle or something similarly ridiculous.
