Author LK Farlow Central Valley U series was a welcome discovery, and I was a convert. Stupidly, I started on book two Dirty Little Secret: An Older Brother’s Best Friend Romance (Central Valley U), and had to go back to the beginning with Sweet Little Nothing (Central Valley U). LK Farlow (A.K.A Kate) has taken time out of her busy schedule to answer my five burning questions. Check out her answers and her new book Pretty Little Thing: A Single Mom Romance (Central Valley U)
1. Let’s start with Kill, Marry, or Screw? Name three fictitious book boyfriends.
This seems like a trick question. It is, isn’t it? Because listen, I mostly read reverse harem for a reason. There are PLENTY of book boyfriends I’d like to marry or screw, but kill?! One of my beloved book boys?! NEVER!

2. Do you remember the first romance book you ever read? Can you tell me about it? I think mine was Bitch by Jackie Collins, and I was about 10 or 11.
My first book (to memory) with romantic threads was Cassandra Clare’s The Mortal Instruments. Clary and Jace opened up a whole new world for me, and from there, I found Jennifer Armentrout’s Lux series (Daemon is life), which led me to her contemporary J. Lynn titles. From there… I was obsessed!
3. What types of romance would you like to write but haven’t yet?
I really want to write something forbidden. I’ve toed the line in the past, but more than anything, I want to jump right over it with both feet. I also have a dystopian novel floating around in my brain space, but I doubt it will ever see the light of my laptop screen.
4. What are you reading right now? Do you have a favorite book/series/genre?
I typically read PNR, bully romances, and reverse harems, which is the polar opposite of what I write. However, my ALL-TIME FAVORITE is More Than Her and More Than Him by Jay McLean—this duet is a contemporary new adult romance, and Logan-Fucking-Mattews is my all-time favorite book boyfriend. As for my favorite PNR… GOSH, this is hard. I read A LOT. Hmm. Probably Pack Darling by Lola Rock.
5. What was the inspiration for your new book?
All of my books are taken from little bits of my own life. My characters are interwoven blends of the people who have made an impact on my life and my stories are (abstractly) inspired by my own experiences. When I started my Central Valley U series, I wasn’t sure if Orion would get his own book, but by the time I started number two, I just knew he had a lot to say. I’ve always wanted to write an exotic dancer, and Frankie presented me with the perfect opportunity to do so. Maverick—oh, sweet Mav—is bits and pieces of all of my children, and oh-so-special to me!
6. For bonus points, what’s your favorite swear word?
Fuck. Definitely fuck. It has so many different connotations and uses. It’s a catchall, really.
