I discovered Jay Crownover’s book Rule: A Marked Men Novel a few years ago and I was hooked into her world of flawed tattooed men forever. Did I mention they are hot too? I’ve read all of her books now and enjoy them for her ability to write alpha men that show you a different story and attitude than you’ve read in the past. In her latest book Built: Saints of Denver, we have Zeb who is my favorite kind of alpha one with a heart but also with a dirty mouth. Zeb breaks down Sawyers walls with his giant sledgehammer. Did I mention he refurbishes old homes? Swoon. Jay has done something that no one has ever been able to do in my life, get me to love men with beards. I tip my hat to her for making it work for me. Insert applause!

1. Let’s start off with Kill, Marry or Screw? Gideon Cross, Kellan Kyle or Zeb?
None of the above for any of the things….I love Zeb but he’s too nice for me and the other two are not my type of guy…but they aren’t bad enough to want dead or anything.
2. Do you r
emember the first romance book you ever read? Can you tell me about it? I think mine was Bitch by Jackie Collins and I was about 10 or 11.
My first romance was Texas Sage by Sandra Brown and then the entire trilogy about the siblings. I loved it then and I love it now…at 16 I though it was scandalous…now I think it’s just a solid family saga romance which is my favorite. And cowboys…cowboys are always hot…
3. What type of stories would you like to write but haven’t yet? Menage, BDSM or a sexless romance. The sexless romance should come with a warning. Don’t you think?
No I don’t think it needs a warning. That’s like saying books with cheating or cliff hangers should have a warning…I don’t think a reader needs to know what’s coming…or what isn’t coming. That’s why you read to find out what the story holds…I would never write BDSM…not my jam…I don’t know about menage..also not my particular wheelhouse and I like sex in my books so a clean romance isn’t in my future either…I’ve pretty much written everything I’ve wanted to…until a new idea strikes. I just roll with whatever story is in my head and hope for the best.
4. What’s your favorite thing to do when you aren’t writing or reading?
I watch a lot of TV and I shop…I also travel a lot which is awesome. I’m pretty simple…doesn’t take much for me to find myself a good time.
5. If you could have a dinner party and invite anyone to it, who would it be? Celebrities, book boyfriends, intellectuals or anyone. Name five people.
1. My grandma so she could see how far I’ve come
2. My high school English Teacher so he could see his faith in me was warranted
