Author Devney Perry Answers my Five Burning Questions & more

I stumbled across this book The Coppersmith Farmhouse (Jamison Valley Series Book 1) by Devney Perry from one of Aestas great reviews. I’d been up for reading a swoon worthy story about an Alpha rancher and this one didn’t disappoint. This book wasn’t your typical rancher story and this new author Devney Perry has a great new point of view to this genre.  If you are a fan of Kristen Ashley or Sawyer Bennett Alpha’s you will love this book.

Read it today and pre-order her next book The Clover Chapel (Jamison Valley Series Book 2)I’ve already got my copy ordered.

Devney took a few minutes out form her busy schedule of writing and being a wife and mom to answer my five burning questions.

1. Kill, Marry or Screw? Gideon Cross, Kellan Kyle or Jess?
Kill: Jess. I love reading and writing alpha heroes, but in real life I’d probably want to throw things at him on a regular basis.

Marry: Jess. The incredible sweetness hidden behind his grouchy exterior is my favorite thing about him. He’s definitely husband material.

Screw: Jess. All. Night. Long.

2.Do you remember the first romance book you ever read? Can you tell me about it?
Tami Hoag’s Dark Paradise. It wasn’t the first romance I’d ever read but definitely the most memorable book from my youth. I read it my junior year in high school and it was the first book I’d read that included sex. I loved it. As a good girl, it was my dirty little secret. That was, until I made the monumental mistake of taking it in for a one-on-one book report with my fifty-something-year-old male English teacher. He had asked us to bring in our most recent read so I plucked Dark Paradise out of my backpack. I remember thinking, “He’s just going to thumb through and make me tell him about certain parts. What are the chances he picks a sex scene? There aren’t that many.” Oh, young and foolish Devney. I blathered on about the suspense and love story, meanwhile, his random thumbing found every sex scene in the book. Finally, after saying, “Hmm. There is a lot of sex in here.” he dismissed me so I could scurry back to my desk with beat-red cheeks. I still re-read Dark Paradise from time to time, and I always smile when I think about that book report.

3. What type of stories would you like to write but haven’t yet? Menage, BDSM or a sexless romance.
I love the contemporary romance genre so it would definitely be a stretch for me to stray. My grandma is begging for a sexless romance with cleaner language. ** Shakes head and laughs ** Maybe one of these days she’ll get her wish. It would definitely come with a warning to my current readers, or maybe it would be for Grandma’s eyes only.

4.What’s your favorite thing to do when you aren’t writing or reading?
I go on Netflix and HBO binges. I am always the last person to watch a TV show because I like to wait until every episode is out. I just finished Downton Abbey and before that, Sons of Anarchy and True Blood.

5. If you could have a dinner party and invite anyone to it, who would it be? The cast of Friends, but I would require they be in character.

6. For bonus points, what’s your favorite swear word?
Fuck. Though, I’m really trying to curb my usage of the glorious word. My oldest is at that age when he repeats everything I say to his teachers. I’m expecting a parent/teacher conference request any day now for the inevitable language discussion.
